Hi Guys,

So I've been cycling for about a week and a half with Fritz Turbo start, Carribsea Life rock and Live Sand.

I can't read any Nitrates and i have only had around 0.25 Nitrites that are now 0
Ammonia max was 0.50 but stays at 0 or 0.25(hard to tell with API testkit) i tried adding more Ammonia doesn't seem to go above 0.25.

Salinity 1.025
Temp: 78.8 F

So i noticed that i have these little hair things, are they hair algae? Are they normal? Is it cycled ?

BTW i only turned these lights on to take the pic. Don't want the light on while cycling heard it makes hair algae.

Your advice is appreciated thank you !!

Good news is if you added ammonia and it goes away quickly your tank is cycling. Be sure to go slow with adding fish. Because bacteria that processes nitrite to nitrate takes longer to develop you might not see nitrate right away.
The hair stuff is hard to say. Might be algae. Im not sure what they spray on that Carribsea Life rock to make those coating of bacteria and multiple engineered aragonite coatings.

Do you think its time for clean up crew?

Unless you really have algae or something for them to eat, you might have to feed them to keep them alive
