How bad is the hairline algae outbreak? Do you know what in balance caused it?

Personally I don’t rely on chemicals. If you don’t have one, get a refugium and grow some chaetomorpha algae to take away nutrients from the hair algae. If you can’t do that, you can try dosing Reef flux or vibrant.
