I have 28 jbj and have three chamber in back of tank. Wanted to know if I should put filter pads on top, chateo algae with light in the middle and in bottom bags of
Pura (Magnavore) APU00404 Complete Aquarium Filter Media and gfo granular ferric oxide high capacity?

I wouldn't use macroalgae in a nano AIO chamber. If you want natural nutrient removal I would go with small drop in ATS (algae scrubber) you get more nutrient removal with filamentous algae is much less space. You can also get some pods but in a tank that size it won't matter as it's too small and you'll have to rely on feeding and fish that take food.

Wouldn't use GFO right away unless other nutrient removal isn't sufficient but you can always add a bag of phosphate media at some point.

I've tried blended all in one media and really haven't noticed any difference from just a bag of GAC (always have a few tablespoons in a bag in filter) and some phosphate media (which I haven't used since my ATS install and rarely before that). It's just more expensive.

Good luck!
