I have noticed my hairy pavona has a couple bubbly looking spots kinda like the flesh is out growing the skeleton. It looks happy just noticed a couple areas its looking different from when we got it. It's about trippled in size since we got it so maybe it's just normal and more noticeable due to size.

Mine does this from time to time, but it has easily quadrupled in size from a thumbnail frag, to a baseball in just over a year or 2.

Just watch those sweepers, they can get super long, and I haven't found a single coral it won't win against.

Growing well. I have 2, one is a hairy like yours, the other is more smooth skin, called an ORA mint chip pavona. I have never seen sweeper on the smooth skin.

Give me a minute and I'll grab a pic of both.

Like that in the middle? Seems to grow alittle slower.

I actually have mine very low in the tank. Yes I know it's technically an SPS, but I find mine likes lower lighting. While the mint chip likes extreme par.

Never mind the lemon peel photobombing.

And my mint chip:

How long did it take to get your mint that size?

Got it IDK a few years ago at reefapalooza, before rona. Might have been 2019?

Again though it started as a tiny little thumbnail I got for 20 bucks. Been fragged many times over through the years, as I, nor my LFS has ever seen one. So I trade in frags to him. I keep it about that size.

It's also very fragile, and my fish knock chunks of it off from time to time.
