Right now on my 500g sps tank I am running 6x400W ushio 14k SE. Recently, I did quite a bit of aquascaping with some new (but cooked) BRS Pukani and am at the stage where I'm getting a fair amount of cyano popping up all over it. At least I think it's cyano; it's growing in the form of little balls which have to be removed manually. Definitely not Cotton Candy algae. Anyway, a friend suggested that I try replacing 3 of the 14Ks with 20K radiums to 'maybe' hasten the course of the cyano's run. But I'm a little hesitant. Will they make the tank much, much bluer? How much PAR will I lose (right now, I can grow Acropora on the bottom; some 36"+away from the light source)? Will this do potential harm to the acro colonies that have already acclimated themselves to the current lighting? Any benefits should the cyano 'experiment' fail?

Thanks In Advance.
