Half of SPS is white

A green bali slimer coral that I picked up 1.5 month ago has one side of it white - I didn't notice until today, and realized that this side is shadowed by the light fixture shining down on the coral and creating a shadow on the one side.

1. Can this coral be saved, and if so what should I be doing?
2. How can I prevent shadows? I have one fixture in the middle of the tank, and any corals that have branches to them might be have a shadow on them casted by themselves or others.

I believe a T5 fixture reduces shadowing the most.
Its a real issue on LED fixtures.

David Saxby uses angled Ai hydra lights on his tank to reduce shadowing in some areas. He can grow stuff under ledges!!!

If it's healthy except for the shaded side it should survive if you can fix the shadow problem.
