Hey all, am upgrading to a 250 liter 100x50x50 cm tank and plan to get a metal halide t5 combo fixture like Giesemann Infinity or Aqua medic Ocean light but have no experience with metal halide so im unsure what sise is needed for a mixed sps/lps reef tank.

Was thinking about 150w + 2x 24w t5 or 250w+2x24w t5 but honestly have no idea what is needed?

If you where not that far away I would have given you my halide that I do not use. It would be just right for that tank.

Coralife 24 Inch Aqualight Pro, 1x250W HQI Lamp + 2x65W CF Lamps Sq. Pin + 2x1W LED

Look that up. Maybe that would help. That light will grow anything.

That would be awesome but yeah one big pond in between:P
So a 250 watt fixture would be a better bet than 150w?
Ill have to look up Coralife.

It's like that on my tank because of a center brace.

I would also say look up SBreeflights.com
The LED that I had from them was amazing! Everything in my tank was growing like seeds.

dang phone autocorrect. I meant to say everything was growing like crazy.

We have 220 volt here in Norway and seems like all these manufacturers are US only.
I would like a mixed halide and t5 in a fixture and the only 2x 150w fixtures ive seen are 120 cm long so 20 cm longer than my tank.

Only options ive seen in Europe are either Giesemann Infinity that should be a pretty solid bet or Aqua medic oceanlight that is probably a bit lower quality but should still be pretty solid.
Question is mostly what size will be the best bet?
I have a Maxpect razor led at the moment that i want to replace and have little interest in trying another led light.

Before you go with MH take a look at SBreeflights. I love that LED. It makes all my corals grow like crazy.

I am ordering the Aqua medic oceanlight 1x250w 2x24 t5, would have gone with the Giesemann but had to get a new skimmer and im running out of money excuses with the miss:p

I know how that is.

Ended on a deal on ATI Sunpower 6x39. Seems like noone stocks Halides here anymore and i would have had to order from Germany, not a big deal but having no bulbs nearby on stock swayed me to T5 fixture rather.
Not what i had originally in mind but think its a solid bet and can always add some led strips for shimmer and night light.
