i have a 10 gal that has been running for some time now. I am wanting to.hang a 175w halide over it because i will be putting the frags from.the frag swap in it to quarantine them before i put them in my 110. my question is how high should i hang light? The 10 gal is in a spare bedroom so im not worried about the light spilling out into the room .

will do lindsey. im afraid of that. im going to let it run all week that way and see how it works out.

Even if it runs cool this week, I'd be more concerned about the summer season. Unless you're running a chiller or typically blast your AC all day during the summer.

during summer i keep air set at 68. plus the room its in doesn't really get any sun on that side. room stays cool

I have a 250w 13" over my 10g without issue. Just make sure its not in a canopy and at least 12" up maybe closer just feel for the heat

Aww im at work else id show you. Bnkapp saw it yesterday tho. Ill get pics tomorow but its just a coral QT so its nothing to look at. The fixture is like twice the size of the tank lol and i plan to get a 20g under it since i heard petco doing the sale.

If it does start to heat up some, jus throw a clip on fan to the lid blowing across the water. That'll do ya.

Lights off flash on.
