Currently I run 2x250w radiums over my sps tank along with 4x blue plus t5 supplements. I've had extreme stability as of late after introducing a calcium reactor some months ago. Now I notice 1 degree temp swings. I currently run my halides 7 hrs a day. Should I worry about that 1 degree, or should I drop to 5hrs? I just ask because I notice more color loss in the summer than the winter, which leads me to believe it's the temp stressing my sps.

Shouldn't be of concern. I'm running a single 250W Hamilton bulb, and my temp increases anywhere from .5 to .8 degrees a day and everything looks healthy and colorful ;) There are temperature controllers out there that allow for a 2 degree temperature swing, so 1 degree should be fine :)

Thanks for the input! My next culprit may be my 0.01 po4. I keep nitrates at 5ppm. I need to feed more I think. But.....idk why my winter tank stomps on my summer tank lol. There's always something in this hobby!

I run 3 250w mogul base on a 220 with canopy raises 5 on hot days

Temp is one thing that will change seasonally... CO2 can vary seasonally as well, and will affect pH in the tank. Longer days providing more indirect natural light can have some effect seasonally, as well.

There's always something in this hobby!

If there weren't, it wouldn't be a hobby, would it :)

1 degree is nothing if everything else is stable . I run 400 watts with 4 T5s and 2 reefbrites over a 70 gallon acro only tank and difference between my night and day temp is 2.5-3 ... doesn't matter to any of my acros but everything else is stable .
