So I'm real close to switching to LEDs from my 2x250 halides. I have to say I love the halides, but know the LED is the more efficient way to go. Does anyone know what kind of energy savings $ wise I'd be looking at for two 250 halides, and to 39 watt t5s verses a something like an Evergrow IT2080? Any rough guess?

A watt is a watt. Calc what you are using and estimate what you will use with led. It usually about a 50% less in cost

I switched from two 150 watt halides to leds about 10 months ago and i have seen a savings of $25- $30 a month on electric bill.

Depends on what you are paying for a Kw hour in your area.
On my 210 I used to run 3, 400 watt MH and two 160W VHO that cost about $50 a month for lighting.

Now, I use a DIY led at 375 watts that cost about $13 a month for the lighting.

HUGE SAVINGS!!!

It's a noticeable $$ savings along with less heat produced, so everything stay cooler without the need of a chiller. At least it does for me.

Its not only the light savings, you will run cooler so less power for a chiller or fans, your homes AC will run less and you will notice a reduction in RO/DI top off water. All add up to a significant savings.

What Rat said.
Don't forget bulbs. (Fixtures aren't dangerously hot also)

I switched from a similar halide setup to the Maxspect Mazarra P-Series (2 fixtures) and I did not notice a difference in my electricity bill. The only thing that I can think of is that my heater is running much more than before.

Didn't notice much difference either and I'm back to halides

To be honest I was having a problem with the skimmer I had and my sump and my friend had a 34 gallon system for sale that had all the equipment that I needed so I traded him my ai sol for that system which came with a metal halide lol.But I wasn't happy with the Leds because they wouldn't keep my acros colored up at all and I'm pretty sure they were just acclimating to the leds but I don't like seeing nice acros fading away.when I used halides or t5s before I never had that problem and since iv switched back to halides everything has held its color and is doing great! the features were cool on the leds but I'd rather have a light that I know will grow coral and give them the spectrum they need to thrive instead of stressing wondering if my led fixture can do the job.So it was a easy decision switching back for me and I'm very happy I did.Maybe in a few years when leds evolve more and nobody second guesses them I may switch back

Mike007---- Really,,,wow! I do realize the savings and efficiency of LED over halides but thats alot of money. I have 2 150 watt halides and 2 4ft actinics over a 90g tank. I am going to have to look at a diy LED setup.
