Still running Halides as myain lights and was supplementing with T5s till nearby LFS stopped getting them and they nice a hassle to ship. So I switched couple years back to LED to supplement my Halides which gave me that fluoresence I was missing with Halides and T5. Have run Razors then Orpheks V1 followed by V2.1 and only today I upgraded to Radions. My drag systems run under different LEDs and I know they can keep corals alive and grow them yet Halides are more visually pleasing to me and I will continue to run them as main lights. So it's not an LED Vs Halides thread. My question is how would u run ur LEDs in such scenario. My Halides (3x250w Halides DE 14 k ushio or Phoenix in lumenbright pendants) run for 7 hours a day. I so far ran the previous LEDS at 100 percent on all channels except for red at 30 percent. LEDS ran for 11 he's including a 3 hours actingc period in morning and night. As Radions should be stronger lights do u think going 100 percent when Halides are on would be overkill? Checked out prof Sanjay lighting program where he runs all his lights at 100 percent. Would love to do that if it adds to growth or colors but would definitely run lower in case it cause risk of burning my corals. Tank is a 400 G 88x34x34.

The limitation of led is not strength but rather spread and more importantly spectrum. Leds throw out very narrow bands in the spectrum where T5 and Halides have more flat spectrums with bumps in intensity at key points.

You really need a par meter to figure out the strength esp when mixing technologies. I recommend the seneye reef.

JMO...
I would have kept running the MH/T5. I still order my T5's for my Led/T5 hybird and they have not been that much hassle. If bulbs have broke during shipping they ship me new ones on next day shipping.
To myself MH/T5 is still the gold standard of reef lighting until proven other wise.
I still miss those 20K radiums.
I wish you all the success and I'm sure over time you will find your led's sweat spots.

Problem is I ship across the globe or else it definitely would have been MH T5.

maroun.c,
I understand you've already bought your led's but a lot of reefer's in the US have been hanging the reefbrite xho actinic led strips with their MH lights.
