I have a small tank of Halimeda (incressata?) that has live rock but no other filtering, some clean up snails, and aiptaisia and whatever else hitchhiked in on the Halimeda. Seems to be a lot of copepods coming up now. I didn't introduce a food source specifically...are they going to be bad for the Halimeda in any way?

Copepods should not harm macro. However, there are many different types of Copepods & amphipods. In sufficient density and if starved of micro algae they could eat macro algae.

If your goal is a macro tank, I suggest adding a fish that will assist in adding major nutrients of nitrogen & phosphorus on a continuous basis.

I noticed you are from Austin. Go to Aquadome and ask Hunter for mollies adjusted to saltwater. They will help your CUC with nuisance film algae. To control density of Copepods is desirable. Once they are well established with numerous hiding places, add fish that eat Copepod, Mandarins are nice for that. I have Caulerpa Prolifera in my 30G macro tank. Try a few red macros like Gracilaria Hayi or Bortacladi.
