Looks like it to me. It was never really a nuisance when it was in my tank years ago as it is easy to remove.

Yea Halimeda is not a nuisance algae it is a sign of a healthy tank. It is common on some reefs and actually makes up allot of the white sand on some beaches.
It can suck up allot of calcium sometimes though..

I also see Neomeris annulata in that picture which is another calcareous algae.

I had some start growing when I started using the Kent Purple Tech stuff a few years ago. It got choked out with my massive macroalgae take over and I haven't seen it since, that was over a year ago. I'm actually thinking about getting some more of the purple tech stuff to see if I can get it to grow back. Not saying it will work, but it's cheap.

Yeah It doesn't say it has spores or anything, but I never had any Halimeda growing before I started dosing it at night. I actually pulled the first piece I saw out cause I didn't know what it was. Now the question is was it always there as a hitchhiker, or maybe it's a common hitchhiker that the Kent stuff really does help grow. I see Kent products everywhere I'll pick some up and start dosing it again and see if I get any to grow. I'll report back later.
