I received a text message from my wife this afternoon.
She told me that our new Halloween hermit crab was dead and that he had already been munched on.
I figured, dang I got to get that out of the tank as soon as I get home. I don't have enough of a CUC to clean up that much waste.
When I got home the first thing I did was head for the tank to see what's going on. Just as I walked up I see the crab, still in it's shell and he is pushing out the last bit of his molted shell.
I got a chuckle out of it and was glad he is still alive. I was starting to get a bit concerned about him because he had been just sitting in the back corner of the tank without moving at all for 2 days.
I guess this explains what was going on.
I do have a question though... Now that he has molted, will he be wanting to move to a bigger shell?
I have only had him for a week and have not had the chance to get him some choices for new homes yet. I was planning on finding him some new shells tomorrow.
