So I've been having a strange problem lately with a hermit crab, I'm wondering if I'll have to remove him or if it's no big deal. In my 150 gallon I have a few Halloween hermits, they all mind their own business and are pretty peaceful but lately one has taken interest in my Zoas and coral, there's only 2 small sections in the tank where I have them and he's been targeting them lately, poking around at the coral and knocking it off the rock and dragging it around the tank and crawling through the zoas I'm not sure if he's eating them or causing harm, or maybe just curious? I just find it odd he has the whole giant tank, and goes after them 2 small areas

I always had to remove them.... They never ate coral but were always climbing all over them with their sharp legs....

This is why I don't advise hermits of any type. They are scavengers, and when they are hungry, they will eat anything.

i had a halloween hermit that ate 2 feather dusters. he went into the sump.
