I have a small colony of hallucinations that are no longer happy. I've tried everything I can think of and nothing seems to be helping. They closed a few weeks ago and just won't open back up. They do not appear to be melting away. For those of you who have been successful with hallucinations, where do you have them placed in your tank? Mine have been in a low flow spot on my sand bed, where they grew from 1 to 13 polyps since December. I'm wondering if they are just no longer happy in this spot! Any advice you guys have would be great!

I have a single hallucination which I have on the sand bed under a ledge so out of the full beam of light & the flow is moderate. It has just popped a baby so pretty happy.

Sand bed very little flow, shade,I have a nice lil colony of 10+, I have produced about 25p

I have had zoas close for no good reason for weeks on end. I tried an iodine dip and they were back to normal in under a week.

awesome! I got mine from you.. a 1p frag and a 2p frag. the 2p melted a few days later but the 1p grew to 16-17p since November I believe. Imagine the 2p didnt melt I'd have soo muchh! :(

yep, if you can get them to live they grow fairly good, for some reason my black speckles slowly disappeared my adult polyps look like juveniles now.....

Post a close up pic, maybe it will tell us something.

I'll often dip closed up zoas in Furan2 and later that day they open up. On a side note, I can't believe some of the growth you guys have with these. I've had mine for over a year and still don't have any new polyps. I'm thinking my water is too clean, sps dominant, but I would think I would have at least have a few new polyps. I did cut a polyp from the 3p I originally bought and that guy now has 6p. Weird.

I have my Hallucination frag on the sandbed, tucked under a ledge which gets extremely low flow and a little light from my Kessil a350.

My single polyp frag is now growing two baby polyps after being in my tank for 2-3 months.

I had my frag in about 14 inches from my LEDs in moderate flow with no problems. Went from 1 to 4 polyps in a month or so. Stupid me. I sold it

Mine have a lot more splatter on the disc than those two photos. Do you guys also get the splatter?
