I put new Hamilton 10k bulbs in at the beginning of May. I have 4 x 250w lights, 2 x 4 foot Hamilton Cebu Sub fixtures.
Three have failed now. One failed after a week and was replaced by Hamilton. 2 Failed today, one in each Cebu sun.
I was a set ahead because I got 4 from Marine Depot on clearance so I have 2 more in the cabinet.

Anybody got a suggestion for something else to try? 250w mogul base. I run electronic M58 ballasts.

Talk to Hamilton. They are helpful and nice.

Electronic or m58? m58 ballasts are all magnetic, AFAIK.

Well I have these

I never get the terminology right.
Yes, they are helpful and nice. I have spoken to them before.

So there are 3 types of 250w ballasts? E, M58 and M80. I guess I thought there were only 2.

There is more than that... there are at least probe and pulse start magnetic. There are all kinds of e ballasts. m80 is technically HQI and not 250w, but it has that name. There are ANSI magnetic ballasts that have been retired that you might see floating around.

Whats the wattage of the highest setting on these Hammy ballasts?

So what do you suggest I do? I suspect Hamilton has had some problems with manufacturing quality do to world events.
I am not seeing many options out there.
Ride it out and keep buying them or try something else?

If i were you, id grab Radiums. Sure they are expensive but you know they are a premium bulb that you can run for over a year trouble free. People also swear by their performance!
