Good day to all, over the past few weeks I’ve noticed my branching hammer and Frogspawn have been looking, odd. The tentacles are very extended and appear deflated not the normal puffy, wavy normal way these should look like. See the attached photos. Was wondering if any one on here has experienced this, and if so what might cause these corals to do this.

Tank parameters-
Salinity:1.024
PH 8.1-8.3 through out the day.
Alk is 8.9 Dkh
Calcium:480
Mag: 1450
Nitrites 11.8
P04: 0.18

It is most apparent with the frogspawn, the hammer to a lesser extent after watching, they both do it to some degree.

What lighting do you have ? What type of flow you running? Maybe take a pic of the whole tank .
I see gha ! how long has the tank been running?

Yeah there is some hair algae in the tank, believe it or not. it’s actually getting better. But that’s a topic for another time. Flow I got a Hydor seltz return pump, set to its lowest setting, a Korella power head and a Hygger dc power head to create some randomness to the movement of the water. The light is an Amazon black box. Been one of the many things I’ve wanted to replace just have not landed on one that I like that’s in my budget. Never did test the par just kept the settings real low. I suppose that’s probably a good place to start.

Update: it was flow. after removing the power heads from tank and cleaning them then reinstalling the difference in the flow of the tank was very noticeable and the frogspawn and hammer corals are looking much better than before. I imagine it will be a few days before they are back 100% but they already look leaps and bounds better than before. Thanks for everybody’s input and I hope this helps some one else struggling in the future.
