Still learning a lot. If you look at the pic you can see some of the hammer has no color. Is this an issue? What is the remedy?
Thanks

Bi Color or a splatter Hammer??

Nice scolys!

It is not uncommon for torches and hammers to have a color morph, changing conditions is a trigger for it but it doesn’t always happen. Since yours happened after a location move I would be assuming that’s why. You can get really unique outcomes from morphs, or you can get dull ones.

Thanks for the info. Like I said I have a lot to learn.

I bought a 350$ Baby sun god torch. Because I liked the all gold tentacles. It was all good for a few months then started growing purple. By 6 months and from then onwards, it looks like a 150$ knicks torch - tentacles half purple and half gold :(

Still a nice coral just not what I expected. I have many many torches and hammers and have only seen morphing happen twice. I have other lps that have morphed also…sometimes ending up looking better and other times worse

The corals adapt - mainly to lighting, but there are other nutritional elements involved also. Trace elements can play a part also. It’s complex and beyond my knowledge. I would say if you are unhappy you can move it back or move it somewhere new, and monitor. To me, as long as it’s healthy, and not ugly lol, I leave it and let it do it’s thing.

I think the split color look of yours is cool and unique. People call this look grafting or grafted coral. When two of the same coral, but different colors, are placed adjacent and grow together into a single coral, with color split basically in a line. It can happen artificially (man made) or naturally. Usually worth more money due to difficulty or rarity
