My hammer was a dark purple a year ago when I get it, now it's sort of clear. I'm not concerned at all or planning on doing anything to change it just wondering thoughts on why. Its located on the sand bed with a Hydra 52 about 2.5 feet from the lights. Would you guess the first coloring was from t5s? Or maybe higher intensity leds. Or maybe higher nutrients? Would really appreciate pictures of your hammer or torch from when you got it and what your lights are now. Thanks all

It's a possibility of too much or too little light or nitrates/phosphates. I had some under a cheap light in my sons nano and they went almost clear. I put a frag back in my tank and it got darker. Its had to say really.

Yes of course there is no definitive way to say. But in your experience too little light will cause this. May explain why it has had little growth as well. I upped my lighting about 10 percent yesterday so maybe in a few weeks I'll try moving it up a bit. Maybe I shouldn't have said I wasnt going to do anything. ;) thank you for sharing your experience.
