new to corals. Why am I reading that hammers have long sweeper tentacles and should be kept away from other corals but keep swing pics of them touching or near other corals?

I have a friend who sent me a pic of an acan that had a whole head dissolved from a hammer sting. If you keep a hammer around similar type corals (frogspawn and torch) you’ll probably be better off. Some corals are just weaker than others.

I've never had a hammer damage another coral with sweeper, but then again I have my hammers by themselves.

Torches are much more aggressive if we're talking about sweepers...

When you say you have your hammers by themselvws, do you mean individually or as a group? Can you keep different hammers together in a cluster touching each other?

You can keep hammers together and sometimes frogspawns in groups, allowing them to touch. Don’t let torches touch them though

Some ppl have camel shrimps that leave corals alone while others have camels that destroy colonies. It’s just one of things; you can take a chance. Where others have failed, you may prosper. There’s no black and white in this hobby.

It took me 2 years but I’m starting to learn that lol
