Hammer coral bleaching?

iv only had the shrimp for about 10 days do you think they could do this much damage that quick?

They absolutely could do that amount of damage in 10 nights. Take a look after lights out. Those guys are all over the tank. A friend of mine added one to his 10g Fusion to take care of some aiptasia, which it did thoroughly, but then he started complaining to me about his torch and Duncan not opening fully and I knew immediately it was the pep. I've seen it time and time again.

If a peppermint has gone Rouge your lucky your hammer still has a head after ten days. Evil! Sorry had one kill my 4 inch super orange plate.

hmmm i will keep a eye out for this tonight. i did see one eyeing my ricordia but it didn't seem to be messing with it at all and that one seems completely fine

A water quality/chemistry issue.
Grab some of that stringy "stuff" and put in a cup of water. Add .1ml of peroxide and let me know what it does 24 hours from now.

After about 24 hours

Yes h2o2 will take care of the cyanobacteria
Word of caution though, it is easily spread.

Yes the cyanobacteria is easily spread.
You have a few issues going on at one time.
You can change the water just try not to disturb the cyano
Beat the cyanobacteria down first using h2o2
Then work on the sand bed. A quick way to tell is to grab a handful of your sand and smell it.
If it stinks like rotten eggs then there is you primary food source for the cyanobacteria
Hydrogen sulfide

hmmm i do not smell rotten eggs, but i was only going to preform the water change to tackle the sand bed because i just did 30 gallons 2 days ago and all parameters stable. so i will wait on the water change and just use the h202 for now.
