Hey guys!
I’ve recently purchased this hammer coral and it has seemed to becoming translucent, and the tips have become lighter. I’m wondering if this is bleaching or just something that the coral will do
First week is on the top
Third week is on the bottom

Yes it’s bleaching, it could be a lighting issue. The Zooxanthellae that inhabit the coral are abandoning ship. Check your nutrient level, and your lighting.

Can be many reasons. Bleaching is usually sign of stress. Could be low nutrients, low lights, high lights, too much flow, etc. Best thing to do is observe and see if things get worse. It usually take weeks for them to recover.

I’ll check my nutrients, but it is not close to any corals, par of the area it is in is around 65-80, salinity has been stable, and it is in a flow spot that is not to powerful yet not stagnant. I hope that I can find the problem so that I’m able to save it.

Your tank looks brand new. It is most likely just adjusting. Feed it. Your tank looks too clean and sterile.
