Hi All,

This is my first post here in R2R,

I bought 3 hammers and a frogspawn yesterday, the shop didn't have single head frags of the hammers I wanted so the saleswoman offered to cut 2 of them for me.
when I introduced the frags in my tank, I discovered that she cut the frags too close to the head and noticed some flesh exposed from the newly cut side, and both frags are not extending as they're supposed to, unlike the other 2 that seem to be happy.

My question is: is there anything I can do to help these 2 frags to bounce back, or they're goners?
cause I don't wanna go back to the shop and cause the saleswoman a problem if I there anything I can do.

Thanks

You can try an iodine dip. Cutting euphylia tissue is a no no. It often causes what we call brown jelly disease due to infection

Yeah it does looks like they cut into the flesh :(, especially the yellow one. How long have they been in the tank for? It's possible they are still adjusting. Also if you could list your params that would be cool.
But yeah if things worsen I would iodine dip as well.

Thanks for the responses,

here's my parameters,
Alk: 8.5 dkh
Mg: 1400-1440 ppm
Ca: 420 ppm
Nitrate: 30 ppm
Po4: 0.6 ppm
salinity: 35 ppt

using RODI for top off and red sea blue bucket to do about 15% every other month
Total water volume 80 Gal
Waterbox Reef 100.3 system
the tank is 5 months old.
I'm also in the process of setting up a refugium to lower the Nitrates and Phosphates since they are high, I tried GFO before and ended up with dino outbreak so I'm not going that route again.

after 2 days the 2 hammers still look the same not worse not better, the other 2 that were already fragged are open and doing great.
