My hammer was not so happy recently. In the past couple days, one head started to spill zooxanthellae everyday. All other corals are growing fine including frogspawn, Xenia, GSP, Duncan, and candy cane. The tank has been set up for about 4 months. What might be the problem here??

Parameters:

Can you take it out and try an iodine dip? That’s usually first and last resort for euphyllia for me.

One reason its expelling zooxanthellae is increase of light intensity. Did you move the hammer to a higher light area? Are the colors looks really pale? Or did you add activated carbon causing an increase of light penetration? Did you just buy the hammer? it might still be adjusting. If it's loosing tissue then you worry but for now just let it adjust to it's surroundings.

Mine is behaving the same. One thing mine is doing however is to grow other buds? Near it’s base. Good luck

Nah, I've been using the AI prime for 3 months now and I always acclimate the light intensity whenever I add new corals. Plus the hammer has been there since the beginning and it was doing fine. Today it looks very healthy but still expelling zooxanthellae.
