Ive had my hammer coral for a few months now and it just seems to be getting huge!
I have no idea how I would frag it to reduce its size as when it retracts in, it looks like its sitting in a bowl. I'l try get a photo of it later tonight after lights out. Has anyone had any experience fragging hammers like this?

That looks a bit like one of my hammers.

I wouldn't attempt to frag my one, but am interested if anyone has successfully done it.

Yeah I would rather not frag it if they are difficuilt as I've never fragged anything before. I think it's grown enough to touch my zoas near it, which seem to be unhappy so I've moved them now.

Awesome! I’ve been playing around with my flow today due to dead spots but where the hammer is now, it has space but is In to much flow in my opinion. I can’t win haha.
To move into less flow it will be in range of my other corals which are doing really well where they are.

It's tricky, there's always a compromise. I think my purple hammer had stung my goniastrea, so I decided to move the goniastrea and in doing so, ended up snapping and breaking it completely. I'm hoping it survives its ordeal.

Yeah true. I’ve finally found a place for my goniopora where it’s doing well, unfortunately the ideal place for the hammer is directly next to it
Fingers crossed your goniastrea survives!

The goniopora will out sting your hammer. What colour is it?

The tentacles on my green one are about 10cm in length, so I have to give it plenty of room.

Oh I see. I have a pink goniopora, was kind of an impulse buy as I had no idea about them until I got it home and did my research! Some reef roids and moving it to new position has help

Oh nice, mine isn't doing so well at the moment, I am nursing it back to health, it's only a frag so not well established yet.

Hope I can save it and to be fair, it is looking better today.

That looks to be a wall hammer, I wouldn't attempt to frag it. If it was euphyllia paraanchora (branching hammer) then fragging would be no problem.

Every day at the moment. Basically I neglected it for a week and it wouldn't open to feed. Its condition rapidly deteriorated, so I intervened and removed it for a couple of days to feed intensively with a sun coral. Now the polyps are extending again daily I am able to target feed.
