So the past 3 days my hammer coral has been closed up. I tested my water yesterday everything is on acceptable range except my ammonia which is a little high. All my other corals are open doing great. The hammer even has 4 baby heads growing so idk. I’m going to do a water change bigger than I normally do. But just would like some ideas about it. At first it was puffy and open but now it won’t. If anyone has any ideas it would greatly be appreciated

You should never have ammonia in an established tank. Ever. Get everything into a different tank and do a water change stat.

Hammer corals are the canary in the coalmine. Something is wrong. Do some water changes and find out why your ammonia is high. As the previous user stated, it should be zero.

Yea tank is 3 months old already finished cycling. The green hammer beside it was the very first coral in the tank for 2 month along with a wall hammer both are doing great puffy and open. But at times to do over feed which I’ve been cutting back on feeding. But will definitely keep an eye on it.
