My hammer was open fully when i got it, and after a 2 weeks, its just open a bit. Everything else is doing great.

We will need more information. A full tank picture would be a good place to start.

- How old is the tank?
- How big is the tank?
- Do you use RODI water?
- A complete list of water test results.
- What kind of lights do you use?
- Do you have supplemental flow (power heads) or do you rely on the return only?

Its a 20 gallon long tank
Its about 4 months old
I use RODI
I use a NICREW gen 2 led light
I have 2 extra power heads
ammonia: 0ppm PH: 8 Nitrates: 0-5ppm Nitrites 0 ppm

Ok... can you test Alkalinity and Calcium? These two elements are essential for coral growth and continued health.

Hammers do ok with moderate light and flow, so I don't believe that is your issue.

Any chance the Hammer has improved since your original post?

yes a dipped it and a BIG BIG BIIIIIIIG FAT bristle worm came off. Traumatized me. What kits do you suggest for the testing?

I use two: API and Red Sea. API for routine testing and Red Sea to verify API test results that concern me.
