Some time ago I picked up some corals. One was a good size hammer. This guy is taking off and is the centerpiece for all my other corals. I'm posting to see what I can do to accelerate growth. The corals polyps retract at night. I'm not sure if these guys carry the symbiotic algae zooxanthelle, but if they do then it makes sense that they retract at night. I find my corals cyclop-eeze from Piscine Energetics every other night. They eat this stuff up. The hammer resides in a 12 gallon biocube and is getting a ton of light from a T5 main bulb. Any advice on further accelerating the growth of this coral? I've attached a few pics. The on the right shows some of the polyps retracted. I wondered why this was occurring during the day, when they didn't have any food. The polyps typically only retract like that at night. Thank you.
