Doesn’t look like brown jelly at first glance; almost looks like damage.

How old is the tank?
How long have you had it? What parameters are you testing and what the are values (Alk, Calcium, Nitrate, Phosphate, Magnesium)?
What lights are you running (if LED, what power, and for how long)?

Also, do you have other corals close to it that could hit it with sweepers at night or possibly an anemone?

I’ve had it for about 2 weeks and all the parameters are good . I changed the light schedule on my tank about a week ago and ever since then this has happened . My torch corals look great. Shall I change my light schedule back to what it was ?

Has it always looked like this? My first guess is that something is damaging it. Could be a torch for sure.

No it’s only looked like this for a couple of days . I don’t think the torch could have damaged it cos there far apart . There are other hammer corals near tho .

Hmm. If it was just closed up, it could be the lighting change, but since it looks like it is sliming, I think something is getting at it and winning. Euphyllia can usually be placed next to each other, but sometimes it doesn’t work out. I would give it some more room and wait a few days and see if it is looking better.

Ok , I have now changed the light back to normal aswell just in case .

If you just changed the lighting and it wasn’t a huge change, I doubt that is it. Changing it back will just be giving it more to adjust to again. I would say leave it and then move the hammer so it’s isolated.

You could try dipping it in an iodine dip (like Seachem or Lugols) or Revive in the process of moving it. Just to make sure it doesn’t develop brown jelly from what looks like damage. I bet it will heal up and eventually open back up again.
