Hammer coral placement. Is this ok?

It is a small 1 head frag that I got for free. Clowns keep knocking it down into this deep crevice in the rock. The base is almost completely surrounded by rock.
Will it be ok? Or will it be at risk for infection or other problems?

As long as it’s a low flow area, it should be fine. If you want it to stay in place, use putty and superglue. This may not apply to you, but be sure to avoid letting your clowns host. Great pick up for free! They usually sell at about $45 a head

How am I supposed to prevent them from hosting it?
One is in my torch, the other is in the hammer. Tank is only a month or two old. Too young for BTA.

Wish I knew the answer to that Kudos to you for not adding a BTA to an immature tank.

It’s not recommended that clowns host LPS because clowns can be a little rough on their “homes”. LPS corals such as torches/hammers don’t handle this treatment too well because it tears the flesh from the skeleton. Whereas corals such as long polyp toadstools, hairy mushrooms or anemones lack a skeleton.

Could be! They’ll be okay in the short term, but it doesn’t usually work in the long term. I’m hoping some of the experts will chime in here

Euphyllia *can be damaged by rocks. It can tear the flesh on the polyps. It may work out though.

For the clowns, it might be worth moving the coral, in the hope that the clowns won't follow. Then do as suggested, and epoxy in place.

It was halfway across the tank and glued in place before one of the clowns knocked it into a RFA.
The RFA is still recovering...
