Last week I picked up a nice hammer coral after dipping and cleaning I put it in tank and it all liked good it was active and open.
after about 24hr noticed it didn’t look happy and had started to sign of what thought was being eaten by bristle worm or something as sore gooey stuff coming from it and noticed slime around the tank with neon green in it. I thought it was dead and took coral back to shop for exchange.
this morning while looking into overflow box I noticed something strange going on and white little polyps and what thought were sacks of snail eggs and then it struck me theses are the hammers polyps from a polyp bailout.
now the problem I’ve got is about 50 of theses little things growing in the overflow box. I know not all of them will survive as there is no light in there. But ones near the top of the pipe are doing well.
ideal I want to move one or two of these back to main display so can grow on in the tank.
what should I do
leave them we’re they are till have got big enough to frag off the pipe
try and move them now to frag plugs
