Hammer Coral Polyp Extension Q

Hello - I’ve had this hammer coral for over a year. I generally see other hammer coral polyps stay a bit tighter. First photo is from aproxy 1 year ago. However the polyps on this one somewhat resembles that of a torch coral. See 2nd and 3rd photo for how it looks today.It doesn’t get direct flow but is this perhaps the result of too much flow? Interested in anyones thoughts. Thanks!

Its normal. As you can see some of my hammers are really extended and some dont extend that much. I do notice that the longer my hammers have been with me, the more they extend just like yours.

That's pretty interesting. I thought hammer shape and size had to do with genetics and age. My best guess is when it was part of a colony there wasn't much room so all the polyps developed like that. After it got fragged there was so much more room around it that it finally got a chance to stretch its tentacles.
