Hi r2r hopefully you guys can satisfy my curiosity with this one.

This post will be about my hammer coral. I picked it up today to take a closer look at it and a lot of its tentacles fell off and they had no pigment. Do these things shed?

You can see a tentacle on it still. I bothered it so it is ticked off in the picture.

No, they don’t shed. Hammer corals tentacles frequently inflate and then deflate, it’s just what they do.

I don’t see what specific tentacle you’re talking about, I think I know what you’re talking about.

It was more than one tentacle. Most of them fell off there is one in the picture still.
