My hammer coral is not opening all the way. What do I need to do to fix that?

I dont have a test kit I haven't had the extra money latley but I will get it tested tomorrow by my local LFS.

Check them all. Alk seemed to really big a problem with mine if it changed much.

Alrighty I will do that. If it is alk should a water change help with that. And if I get it down will the hammer start to open more?

When's my nitrates become high, they look unhappy, and gradually start losing heads.

If you have an Alk issue it's most likely low, not high. Water changes are unlikely to have a major effect on raising that. Alk and Cal test kits should be your next investment so you can test frequently. Do you have other corals and if so what and how many? You may need to be dosing.

I have green star polyps, zoas, and a hammer. I do not dose

Ok everything was fine with my parameters except for my nitrates. They were at 80

I did a water change today and im going to do another tomorrow and get it re tested

Until you can get your Nitrates under control, consider picking up some Prime to help lock up the Nitrates. It will not get right of them but will help to make them less toxic until you get them down to about 0-10.
