I have a new to my aquarium (4 head) hammer coral that is only showing itself at night. Has anyone experienced this? Do I need to adjust my day lighting setting? Also, I have a four line cleaner wrasse --advertised as reef friendly--that I have caught nipping at the coral when it is closed up? Has anyone experienced this challenge?

How far down in the tank is the hammer. He mey be getting too much light during the day. As for the wrasse i am not expert, but @evolved and @eatbreakfast love wrasses. My best guess is that he is not nipping at the hammer itself, but little pieces of food/pods that happen to be on the hammer.

Larabicus wrasses are obligate corallivores; they're not really "cleaners" at all. As juvi's they will act as a cleaner wrasse, but as they transition into adult hood their diet becomes entirely a corallivore.
