I'm new to LPS but have had soft corals before.

I want to get a Hammer coral which I understand is a LPS coral.

How hard or easy are they vs soft coral?

Way easy in my opinion. I used to have softball size ones all over. I had to frag and frag.

And this is from a guy who can kill a plant with a single stare from 20 paces across a room;Joyful

Like everything else though you do need good water parameters

Hahaha

What should the water parameters be for LPS or hammers specifically?

Very easy. Started my first reef last summer. Have gone all LPS from the start. Everything is happy. Have three different hammers. I have found torches are more finicky of the euphyllias.

I run alk at 8.5, ca 440 and mag 1400. Po4 ranges from .05-.09 working on maintaining steady a little lower
