Hammer coral

Hey, I’m new to the corals and I was wondering does anyone know why my hammer coral shriveled up like this, and then slowly inflated back up…

How often? Usually it’s to poop. Corals will also close in response to stressors.

Thank you, and thanks a lot for that information…I only had the hammer for about 3 days now so this was my first time seeing this.

if something were to "shock it" as if i were to touch/move it, it would shrink. mine generally shrinks, enlarges, and shrinks from morning to evening. when lights are out, it shrinks all the way up, and as the day goes, it extends out fully, then before light goes out, it starts back into knowing that the lights are going out, and then fully shrinks when lights go out
