So I have had these green and purple hammers for a couple of months now. They were in my biocube previously and were doing really well they were out and full and now they look like this a couple of months later. We moved them to our 100 gallon reef tank thinking it would help and they still won’t be as full as a “typical” hammer. Any ideas on what it could be?They still eat but this is as far out as they come out. I attached a photo of the green and purple hammers and a photo of our blueish hammers that are in the same tank. Just did water tests and our parameters have been consistent.

Temp: 76.2
PH: 8.3
Salinity: 1.025
Ammonia: 0
Nitrite: 0
Nitrate: 5
Calcium: 440
Mag: 1600 (I know is high but has been like that in all of my tanks, just won’t go down and I don’t add anything to the tank for mag)
Alk: 8.4dHk

Any thoughts and ideas are helpful, thank you!

I just went through the same thing with my hammers they didn't open in weeks I was so worried i started spot feeding them a couple times a week and the phosphates were swinging a liittle bit and now things are stable they have begun to reopen i found generally when they dont open it is a chemistry issue and it takes a little time after that issue is fixed for them to start to reopen image.jpg
