I agree. I have found my self "chasing numbers" handful of times but made things worse rather then any good
Yea I hear you on that ,lost my first big colony because I was chasing numbers I let stuff be now

I do water changes once a month , I have a heavy amount of marine pure and other biological filtration, I also have a beast protein skimmer for nutrient export

Hoping to get to that point. Tank is about 8 weeks now so I'm still walking on eggshells.
Buy marine pure it is one of the best investments and it could even save you from a tank crash , beef up on biological filtration and you'll be good

I'll definitely try the marine pure. My bio filtration is doing great, really well seeded, haven't seen any signs of ammonia in 6 weeks. Fuge is building really well and protein skimmer is a monster. My only concern is I might have put a lot in for the first 8 weeks but time will tell.

No ,I don't think you could ever have too much biological filtration
