I bought a BTA today and idk if I’m just freaking out over nothing or what but not long after I put it in my tank my hammer coral shriveled up and the tentacles look really small and fragile now. I’m hoping it’s just where I’ve moved the hammer or maybe where my lights have dimmed down for night time. If anyone could help me out that would be great.

well it is a new coral sometimes when they are not acclimated slow enough. sometimes they just react that why when first introduced into the tank. lighting? water parameters? do you have other corals? to be honest this seem normal for a hammer to react when introduce. I wont lie mine did and it opened up the next day and was nice and happy

I’ve had the hammer for about a month so it does really well but when I added the anemone is when it shrunk but I think it was just the light and my reading freaked me out haha

I have 3 BTAs and various hammers and they are all fine. Occasionally the nem moves and touches a frogspawn but moves away from it shortly after.

do you run carbon? it would help if you think any chemicals from them in the water is stressing them. I would think they would get use to each other. might be that the tank is just readjusting to a new inhabitant could do it to also.
