Hammer doesn’t seem to be thriving

About two weeks ago I picked up a tiny orange hammer. It’s been quite a few years since I have kept any euphyllia. It bleached slightly due to lack of nutrients but I quickly fixed that. After another week the hammer opens but still doesn’t seem super happy. It also sucks itself in at around 5:00pm for the rest of the day which is just before the lights change. Any recommendations?

Depending on how much zoox it lost it might take a while before it can handle a full lighting period. Regardless it is very typical for newly added coral to do this. It is just very apparent with euphyllia.

That’s good to know! Knock on wood it doesn’t seem to be peeling. I figured the stress induced by a lack of nutrients may have been the culprit
