My hammer looks like its dying about 4 days ago i added a led light strip and yesterday i noticed a small spot on the side looked like it was shriveld up. I thought so.ething may have touched it so i left it alone toda y its almost completely inside the skeleton.

This is what it looks like

The tank is about a year old
Salinity 1.023-24
Calcium 480
Kh 125.3
Dkh 7
Ph 0.25
Nit 10 ( which is normal for my tank )
Everything else looks great

As a test take out the led strip.
Can be related to too much light or not.

I already did it thos morning and put the old light i had on it back on. Is it to late to bring him back to life

I was looking great until a couple of days ago. Then i noticed the side looked funny yesterday

It almost looks like the top is melting off the skeleton

I call my hammer , the zombie coral, because it died 4 years ago and I left the bone structure in the tank.
Few months later the flesh start growing from the inside and now it is grown up hammer coral.
Even if the worse happens, let the structure in the tank...you may have a surprise.

I had a hammer that would do this whenever I changed something in the quarantine tank, it would completely recede to where you could only see the polyps barely sticking out the top. I moved it several times for flow or light and sometimes it would get happy again and open completely back up only to recede again weeks later. Eventually I lost it after adding some corals I had dipped but still have the skeleton so maybe it will grow back eventually.

Give it a dip in something like brightwell aquatics coral dip, I did this to mine around 6 months ago cuz it looked like yours, a few days later it was out and all puffed up and fast forward to today it went from one head to 10.
