8.5hrs isn't a long time. Maybe just lower the intensity a bit and hopefully the move helps as well.I work weird hours so my lights are on from 430 PM - 2 AM with a 30 min ramp

I notice the most extension an hour or so after lights on... I reduced UV two days ago and also dropped the whites a few percentages. What time of day does it extend the most?
I think I ticked off a Monti after turning down the flow because it was doing great before. I moved him to the frag rack but really believe it is unrelated. There does seem to be a slight improvement with the hammer after two days in lower flow/light.This is still confusing me. Is it the only coral bothered?
Emerald crabs like to pick on LPS sometimes. Mine lives in one of my frogspawns. She doesn't pick at the polyps only the base keeping it clean. But some will pick at the polyps. Ive always heard male crabs are the worst about it so I only get female emerald crabs.Today, I spotted my crab hanging all over the hammer. I though nothing of it at first because hes always climbing over the montis/birdsnest. Well after looking closer he was taking small chunks of the base and eating it. threw him in the sump and if i see improvement i will donate him to my LFS (which I'm sure will feed to their eel) unfortunately.
he was more then just keeping it clean he was actually snapping off small little chunks of the base could that cause it to recede?Emerald crabs like to pick on LPS sometimes. Yeah I dont doubt it. If they bother it enough it can cause it to recede. Same with if a clown tries to host it. That can cause it to recede as well.he was more then just keeping it clean he was actually snapping off small little chunks of the base could that cause it to recede?
Thank you, hopefully keeping the crab in the sump a few days ill notice an improvement.Yeah I dont doubt it. If they bother it enough it can cause it to recede. Same with if a clown tries to host it. That can cause it to recede as well.
Yep. Mine host the overflow never liked the bubble tip looked at it funny.Thank you, hopefully keeping the crab in the sump a few days ill notice an improvement.
I bought a bubble tip anemone for my clown fish pair and they have been in the tank with it a about 2 months now but have showed zero interest in the anemone. they host the temperature probe in the corner of the tank instead smh...
