My wife/kid picked this up a week ago and went into my tank. One of the heads seems healthy and acclimating well to the tank, but the other is dead (and was before it went it).

I know a coral of questionable health should not have went into the tank in the first place, but any suggestions on what I do at this point?

Can the bad head be removed? Is there a possibility that it will regrow over time?

With bailout like that assure:
Water flow not too strong
Alk not too high
Calcium Not below 380
Salinity not high
Nitrates not elevated

With "bailout" (guessing that is the term for a head that recessed/died), is it possible that it will regrow? Most of the head is gray in color, although there are pink dots around the perimeter of the top of the head that maybe indicate there is some life still in it??

To be clear, it was in this state before it entered the tank.

Water flow is low/low-moderate. Alk is on the high end - 10.5. Calcium, Salinity are good. Nitrates are < 25 (and dropping).

Do you ust
I've had heads die off or bail without it affecting the remaining heads. I would leave it be unless the other head has issues.
Do you just let the bailed heads stay as is? Do they potentially reform under good conditions

I've never had luck getting a bailed head to survive. But you may get regrowth from the skeleton, although it is usually tiny heads. Focus on the living head and make sure it is happy where it is.
