I've had this hammer coral for a few months now and just these last few weeks it's started to shrivel up from what it used to be. I noticed there a bunch of red algae looking things on the stem. What is this and how do I remove it as I think it's the problem. Also should I worry about the rest of the corals in my tank, it's lps/zoa dominant.

I don't know if the algae has anything to do with it or not, but I had some camel shrimp in my tank. They started eating my Euphelias, and it looked like die off.

I wasn't sure if the red was algae or not. But are you suggesting the something else in my tank is easing it?

Possibly. I don't know what the stuff on the trunks is, so that surely could be it. I just know that since I put my camel shrimp in the sump, all my Euphelias have been recovering.

They won't be happy with a shrimp running around them a lot. My cleaner shrimp used to upset my hammer.
