I got this hammer about 5 weeks ago and it’s been shrunken in ever since about 3 weeks all permaeters are stable and have been through the. Past 6 weeks has any one seen something like this and know the solution to it or how to help him get better ? I’ve been feeding reef roofs for 2 weeks but it’s not doing any better it seems both heads are affected now

The bottom head looks like it’s on it’s way out. Polyp bailout possibly. Also could be BJD Brown Jelly Disease. You may want to try to dip your hammer in Lugol’s Iodine. Good luck.

What’s your lighting and schedule like? I’m completely new to corals. I got my first a few weeks ago (a hammer). My research lead me to not spot feed. Just mentioning....

Anyone correct me if I’m wrong but I don’t think feeding the coral could hurt anything especially something as small as reef roids there is no schedule yet as of percentage on the new light I’m slowly ramping it up but they have light for about 14 hours and now at 30 percent slowly raising it every day to acclimate all the corals

Have you tried moving the hammer around to see if he likes the location/flow/lighting better?
I have and I think that it could be the general flow in my tank always making a whirlpool I have a fluval power head and it might be too much for the 29 gallon breeder style tank I’m thinking of switching to a more controllable wave maker
