Hi, so I have this hammer for over 3 months. Last month 1 head started to retract and not open fully. I had a nitrate spike from 5-10ppm to 25ppm when I noticed that the head is retracting. Nothing else changed in the tank, parameters pretty stable.

Parameters :
Nitrate 25
Salinity 1.024-25
Phosphate 0.25
Alk 7.8
Calcium 450

Biggest things that effect them I’ve found is swinging parameters (Alk/PH/salinity mainly) Do you feed anything?

Alk and Salinity was pretty stable,i don't know about PH. No I don't feed them anything
I would suggest RedSea AB+ for amino acids, carbs, lipids, etc. and I feed coral feast once a week. Was using reef roids but the phosphates are high and would make them bump up too much

No it generally does not increase those parameters but if you have an algae issue and then dose AB+ it’s like your feeding them the carbs, lipids, amino acids, etc and they can grow quickly so I wouldn’t if you are in the ugly stages still
