Looking for opinions, got this hammer about a month ago. My powerhead failed and I swapped to a MP10. Ever since, my hammer polyps have changed shape on the area that gets hit with the most flow, from a typical hammer shape, to a chubby rounder shape. Any idea if they’ll eventually adapt to the flow and change their shape back? Or am I stuck with a partially chubby hammer

Parameters:
Alk: 9
Calc: 425
Mag: 1350
Phos: 0.03
Nitrates: 14.1
Temp: ~78

These look like frammers which are frogspawn and hammer hybrids and great colors

Well this is how it used to look…looks like a hammer to me. What do you think?
Yeah- I had the same.
Light, flow, nutrient issues wont change shape.

Hmmmm, somebody told me that branching hammers tend to have these type of shape changes while wall hammers tend to keep their shape. You think it’s just the type of hammer? In this case, a frammer?

I have a hammer that did something similar when I moved it higher up in the tank. Down in the sand, it was a nicely shaped ball. But now that it's on the rockwork on the Euphyl garden, the tentacles have lengthened, and the ball shape has gone. Now they kind float around like fat torch tentacles.

I miss my hammer shaped polyps lol is it worth moving this coral to see if the polyps will change back?
