My hammer isnt looking to well and i was wondering how i can tell whats wrong the color is good but its not opening very well so i moved it to a spot with lower flow yesterday but i was wondering if it was getting to much or not enough light

You got to give some background shrimp.

How old is the tank?
How long has the hammer been in there?
Has he always looked poor, or did it just start happening?
What are your tank parameters right now? Have they been stable?
Any idea how much light the hammer is getting?

They don't like being hit from the same side with constant flow.
Sometimes they'll react to swings in Nitrate of Phosphate.
They'll def react to swings in salinity, especially if it went up suddenly.
Parasites are also in the mix.

Got any pics?

The tank is 7 months old and ive had the hammer for a month and the hammer had always looked poor
The parameters are
Calcium is 420ppm
Dkh is 8
Nitrates are high 80ppm

It might sound silly but when I started I had a similar issue with my coral In my tank. All the parameters were correct and I couldn't put my finger on what was wrong so I took a sample to my LFS and it turned out my salinity was 1.035 instead of 1.025. Turns out I needed to calibrate my refractometer . But I think ur nitrates sound a bit high. But I'm just new to the hobby so don't take my word for it
